FAQs and Tour Rules

Below are the most common questions and rules. Feel free to contact us as well using the link below.

Where can I be picked up and dropped off?

You will choose a single location near Yadkin Valley:

  • East to Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point

  • West to Wilksboro

  • North to Mount Airy

  • South to Statesville

Schedule permitting, we may be able to accommodate pick up locations outside of the area at additional cost. Please email richwalsh@foothillswinetours.com

What is included in the tour price?

We will make all tasting and lunch reservations with the wineries, pick up your group at a single location, provide private transportation to the wineries, and return the group to the same location. The price includes transportation, the cost of all tastings and vineyard tours, and any applicable taxes. No service or credit card fees will be added.

What is not included in the tour price?

Food costs and gratuities are not included.

  • Cost for food will be paid by guests directly to the winery on the day of the tour. Note, our full day itineraries include wineries with fine dining restaurants with a full menu.

  • Gratuities for the tour can be paid by guests with a credit card or cash on the day of the tour. Note, Foothills Wine Tours relies on the guest paid gratuity to pay tasting and tour gratuities directly to the wineries (we tip wineries 20%).

Are pets or children allowed?

At this time we cannot accommodate pets or anyone under the age of 21 on our tours since they are prohibited by many of our highest conviction wineries. We know this is a deal breaker for many. Call us for recommendations on wineries that do allow pets and children – our family visits these frequently!

Can I bring my own food and beverages?

Our tours are designed to allow guests to purchase food and beverages from the wineries. Generally, wineries that sell food do not allow guests to bring their own. Feel free to bring snacks, but we’ll need to keep those in the van during visits to some of the wineries.

Foothills Wine Tours will provide water and sparkling water while in the van. We ask that guests do not bring their own beverages. No open alcoholic beverages are allowed in the van during the day, but of course guests may transport unopened bottles purchased from the wineries.

When are tours offered?

Tours are offered 7 days a week, but there are more limited vineyard options on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Check the calendar for availability.
